Kaylee (High School Class of 2018)

My life in high school was a blast for the most part, however I faced some challenges that many students my age should not have to face. That was a struggle and constant stress that I would not be able to go to college simply because of my parents financial instability. With two parents, wonderful parents may I add, that did not attend college their job security was few and far between. However, we made it work and although I knew that it was not the be all end all for my college carrier, it still mattered.

This stressor began to subside however when my support system grew a bit more, Jesse Cadiz entered into my life. He was introduced to my through my Texas aunt and she told me that he would be able to assist in the college application and preparation project. While I was hesitant, I agreed and began to form a relationship with Jesse. Between FAFSA, scholarship applications, the common application and begin smart about what to accept or decline, Jesse was there to help. I can recall filling out my FAFSA and receiving a disheartening amount, then going through and doing it again with him and fixing some of my mistakes and the amount had nearly doubled. That saved me in this process, he helped to ensure that I was doing everything possible to still attend the college of my dreams regardless of the finances.

Later during my senior year I was denied to my dream University, however this was not the end of my journey. After talking with my family, my high school counselor and giving Jesse a call, I decided to appeal the decision. Through Jesse’s encouragement to always fight for what I think is right and be an advocate for myself, I was admitted to University. Not only this, but later on when I received my scholarship packet I had be given nearly a full ride scholarship through academics and financial aid. As well as being granted two other scholarships through the county, my college costs are all but covered.

Without having Jesse along my side on this journey I do not believe I would have had the same results. I am eternally grateful to him for being there for any question I could possibly have, reassurance every time we spoke, and just being a guiding force through this difficult process of figuring out my future. I will always be thankful and thank God for putting Jesse into my life.

Lastly, I must add.  I have never met Jesse.  You see, he lives in Texas, and I live in Indiana.  All of our interactions were over the phone and over the internet; our phone calls averaged 2 hours each session.  This is my high school graduation picture; the only time Jesse ever "saw" me.

Ashtyn (High School Class 2018)

Hello! My name is Ashtyn, I recently graduated from High School, and I will be attending the University in the fall.

I have lived with my aunt and uncle the past four years (I am an orphan; both of my parents are deceased), and they are so amazing when it comes to helping me navigate through everything life throws at me, and they have even been super helpful in most of my financial situations. However, with two daughters of their own, one who is currently attending college and one who is graduated, the tuition of college is something that would be almost financially impossible for them to help me with, which I totally understand and would never expect them to! With that being said, Jesse is someone who has helped me tremendously in making sure I am doing everything I can to make tuition as affordable as possible, and that I am all around prepared for college.

As college applications began to open up in the spring of 2017, Jesse helped me stay on top of each one by sitting and going through each of them with me. Applications are very tedious and take a good amount of time to fill out, so it can be super stressful when you’ve never done it before. Thankfully, I had Jesse there to guide me through each of them, and help me with any questions I had. From reading my essays, to helping me with the financial portion, he really was a tremendous aid to me through it all. Once I was finished with each application and I was waiting for results, we began to look at scholarships. Scholarships can also be tedious and stressful to fill out, but once again, I never felt worried or unprepared because I had someone helping me who knew the whole process like the back of their hand. There is a lot of writing for many scholarships and Jesse helped me to make sure I was writing each one to the best of my ability to really up my chances of receiving them. Overall, everything he has done for me has gone such a long way.

Because of Jesse’s help, I was accepted to four of the five universities I applied to, and received an offer from the CAP program for the fifth. Now I am able to attend the University, and I am so happy to have received enough financial aid (including a Pell grant, scholarships, and some loans) to cover half of my tuition. Without Jesse, the whole process of applying for college would have been so much more stressful, and I would have felt completely lost. I am so thankful to have had his help with everything throughout the year. I 100% recommend and encourage everyone to let Jesse help you as you begin to apply to college and everything else that comes along in the process. You will not regret it!

David (College graduate December 2018)

Several years ago, when I was in 10th grade, Mom hired Mr. Jesse to guide and mentor me to get into college.  I come from a single-mom household, and both of my parents did not go to college.  I am the oldest of 3 children, and will be the first in my family to graduate from college.  Throughout high school, Mr. Jesse helped me navigate the challenging course of admissions applications, SAT & ACT exams, scholarship searches and applications, and financial aid.  Mr. Jesse continued to coach me while I was in college, and was always available by phone to collaborate and encourage me.  I am currently serving as a paid intern in accounting.  As a result of his guidance and help, I will be graduating from University in December 2018 with a Bachelors in Accounting. My college is 100% paid for.  I will be graduating college debt free.

Charice (Parent of two daughters; letter dated July 2018)

We were introduced to Jesse when our daughters were a freshman and senior in high school.  Since my husband and I had very little college experience, Jesse was instrumental in helping to prepare our girls to navigate the collegiate waters by assisting them in devising an academic master plan.  Since then, our oldest daughter has graduated from University and going into her 4th year at a world renown financial institution while our youngest daughter walked across the stage June 2018 to receive her diploma from University as well.  It is said that it takes a village to raise a child and we have certainly found this to be true.  It is imperative to ensure those in your village are role models who exhibit strong leadership skills in a trusting, positive and nurturing manner.  Jesse exhibits those attributes and we are thankful he was in our village.

Gabrielle (College graduate Class June 2019)

Coming from a single parent family I had no idea what I needed to do regarding college admissions applications, applying for financial aid, and how to write admissions essays. Mr. Jesse educated me on the do’s and dont’s of the application process and how I could maximize my chances of being accepted to any given university and also how specific financial aid documents should be. Also Mr. Jesse educated me on how I could find scholarships that would aid me with whichever university I chose to attend.
Mr. Jesse really helped me and my mother learn the different ways my tuition could be paid for so that my mom would not have to pay so much out of pocket. Also Mr. Jesse demonstrated how loans work and also how long it would take me to pay off my current loans and smart ways to minimize the amount of loans that I accept.

From the beginning, Mr. Jesse has been very encouraging and supportive.  I was labeled in high school as "learning disabled".  Now, I'm scheduled to graduate from college in June 2019.  Also, Mr. Jesse is coaching me for application to law school and taking the LSAT.

All thru out high school and in college, Mr. Jesse has always been available in-person, text, phone, and e-mail.  He has been truly a blessing in my life.

Derek (High School Class of 2018; and United States Marine Corps)

As I am about to embark for Marine Corps boot camp, I want to express my gratitude to a great person who has helped me make some critical life decisions, and has inspired me in my path to my future. Mr. Jesse Cadiz came to my home to help me understand and open up windows of opportunities I did not know I had, nor could I visualize.  When I became a senior in high school, my mom introduced me to a friend of hers, Mr. Cadiz. She said he would be able to help and guide me with my college decision making and all the elements that came with it that can be so confusing.

When I knew the colleges I was interested in, we aimed for them…..all the while in the back of my mind I wanted to see what else was out there for me. Mr. Cadiz is the type of person that listens to me and hears me out. I got so much knowledge and understanding from his life experiences. He definitely opened my eyes to what I have in me and what I am capable of doing…there are no limits! After I made my decision to enlist in the United States Marine Corps, I did not know if Mr. Cadiz would be able to still help me with choosing this path. I feel God has put Mr. Cadiz in my life because even through my military decision, he knew exactly what I should do, and what I should not do. He made me feel comfortable with the decision I had made to follow. Since he is a veteran, he was able to pave the path not only what I was going into, but how to manage my finances, my post-high school education, my leadership skills, and my stance with this new life journey I was going into. I was able to see and know where I want to be in 10 years, and not just where I am at today.

Thank you for challenging me, for encouraging me, for pushing me to excel. Thank you for reminding me to live a simple life and not try to live a materialistic life that so many in my age group jump in to.

Sincerely,

Derek

Maria (Mother of High School Class 2018)

Jesse Cadiz is truly a wonderful person, and has a heart of kindness, and eager to help others. I have known Jesse probably for almost 20 years from the healthcare industry. He was one of our pharmaceutical sales representatives who was greatly respected in our medical offices. He always presented himself so well and professional and brought a great deal of knowledge to our group.  I always enjoyed reading the stories Jesse would post of students he mentored reaching their education goals. Each student had a different background, and their successes always touched my heart! When Derek had reached a point in high school where he was indecisive, I reached out to Jesse and he was quick to want to help! He came with a plan to help direct Derek and put a plan in action. The ability that I am most grateful with Jesse is his coaching ability to show Derek to see in himself what others do not see. With that, Derek was inspired and ran with his goals! Thank you Jesse for always dropping everything to help Derek out from his testing, to the essay writings, to being persistent to the colleges, and to preparing him with his decision to join the United States Marine Corps.

Thank you!

Maria

Monique (Mother of 2 daughters and a niece; letter dated July 2018. Photo not available

Jesse has been a huge asset to our family. He has helped both of my girls as well as my niece find scholarships. Without his help, the girls would not have been able to find the scholarships that have helped pay for their college tuition and room & board. I would highly recommend Jesse to anyone that needs help with college admissions, scholarships, and financial aid. He is a wealth of information, and knows the ins and outs. He calls to make sure that the girls are timely with their submissions, and as well as making sure that they meet all admissions, scholarships, and financial aid deadlines. I would highly recommend Jesse to anyone that needs scholarship help. He is a wealth of information, and knows the ins and outs. He is a very dedicated and kind man.
